I’ve been working with a couple of organizations using logic modeling and have been reminded of their importance and usefulness.  BCG uses many different types of models, but the basic premise is a visual analysis of inputs, processes, outcomes, and evaluations.  Effective techniques to help transform philosophical ideas to measurable concepts.  As a manager or administrator, let me encourage you to try logic modeling.  For help, call BCG.
